Disney Cruise Line Dine and Play Returns: Everything You Need to Know

Reading Time: 2 minutes
Disney Cruise Line Dine and Play

Hey Disney Cruisers! Beginning Feb. 1, Disney Cruise Line will bring back Dine and Play in a phased rollout across the fleet. This program allows children to enjoy fun activities while adults have a relaxed dining experience. If you’ve sailed with Disney before, you know how valuable this offering is for families. Here’s everything you need to know about the return of Disney Cruise Line Dine and Play.

What Is Disney Cruise Line Dine and Play?

Dine and Play is designed for families who want a smoother dining experience. It allows children to receive their meals quickly and then head to Disney’s Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab while adults enjoy a leisurely dinner. This service is only available for the second dinner seating.

How It Works:

  1. Families inform their dining room server that they want to participate in Dine and Play.
  2. The child’s meal is served first while the adults enjoy their appetizers and main courses at a relaxed pace.
  3. Between 9:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., Youth Activities Counselors arrive at the dining room entrance to check in participating children.
  4. The counselors escort the children to Disney’s Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab, allowing parents to continue their meal without interruption.

Who Can Participate?

Dine and Play is available for children ages 3-10 who are registered at The Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab. Families must bring their child to the dining room entrance for check-in with the Youth Activities team.

When and Where Is Dine and Play Returning?

The program is rolling out in phases across Disney Cruise Line’s fleet:

  • Feb. 1: Disney Treasure and Disney Dream
  • Feb. 2: Disney Fantasy and Disney Magic
  • Feb. 3: Disney Wonder and Disney Wish

Why Families Love Dine and Play

Parents love this service because it gives them a chance to enjoy their dinner without feeling rushed. Kids love it because they get to eat quickly and then head off for exciting activities in the Oceaneer Club or Lab. It’s a win-win for everyone onboard.

Tips for Using Dine and Play

  • Arrive on time for second seating. Since Dine and Play is only available during the later dinner service, arriving on time ensures children get their meals quickly.
  • Let your server know early. Inform your dining team at the start of the meal to ensure your child’s food is served first.
  • Be at the entrance between 9:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Parents are responsible for bringing their child to the designated check-in area.

Final Thoughts

Disney Cruise Line’s Dine and Play is an excellent option for families looking to balance a nice dinner with kid-friendly fun. Whether you’re sailing on the Disney Treasure or Disney Wish, this returning feature will make your cruise experience even more enjoyable. If your family is sailing soon, be sure to take advantage of this guest-favorite offering.
