Epic Universe Annual Passholder Preview

Hey Universal Vacationers! If you’re a Universal Orlando Annual Passholder, this is the moment you’ve been waiting for. The Epic Universe Annual Passholder preview dates are officially open. And yes — there’s a catch. You’ll need to pay to get in.

Let’s break it down quickly and clearly so you can decide if it’s worth it.

What Is Epic Universe?

Epic Universe is Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, set to open on May 22, 2025. It’s the biggest thing they’ve done since Islands of Adventure opened in 1999. The park will feature five themed lands, including:

  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
  • Super Nintendo World
  • How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
  • Dark Universe
  • Celestial Park

It’s bold. It’s massive. And it’s expected to change the theme park game.

Epic Universe Annual Passholder Preview Dates

Annual Passholder previews will run from April 17 through May 8, 2025. But unlike most Passholder previews, these are not included with your pass. Instead, Universal is charging between $123 and $144 per person, depending on the date.

Here’s what we know:

  • Dates: April 17 – May 8
  • Ticket Cost: $144 early preview days → $123 closer to May
  • Who Can Book: Only Universal Orlando Annual Passholders
  • How to Book: Through the Passholder portal on Universal’s website

This is a single-day ticket, and Epic Universe is not yet part of the Annual Pass tiers. That’s key — even if you’re a top-tier passholder, you’ll need to pay.

Why the Cost Matters

Let’s be real — this surprised a lot of people.

Universal announced back in October 2024 that previews were coming. What they didn’t mention at the time? They’d charge for it. That’s new territory.

Even more confusing — the cost isn’t much cheaper than a regular day ticket. So what’s the benefit?

Lower crowds.
That’s really the only advantage right now. Universal hasn’t said how many people will be allowed in per day, so crowd levels are a gamble. But this could be your best shot at seeing Epic Universe before it’s swarmed with summer crowds.

What’s Not Confirmed Yet

There are still some unknowns about these previews:

  • We don’t know if The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will be open. That ride is still not operating as of now.
  • No word on daily capacity. Universal hasn’t said how many tickets will be released per day.
  • No Annual Passholder perks announced. Outside of early access, no bonus benefits have been listed for previews.

According to Len Testa of the Disney Dish, it might come down to the wire for the Ministry of Magic attraction to be ready by the May 22 grand opening. Some early reports said it might not be operational until mid to late summer.

Why This Is Still a Big Deal

Let’s not forget — we haven’t had a brand-new theme park open in the U.S. since Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 1998. That’s over 25 years. This is not just a new ride or a new land. This is an entire park.

So if you’re the type of person who wants to be there first, this is your shot.

Final Thoughts: Should You Book a Preview?

Here’s the deal.

  • If you want lower crowds and don’t mind the price tag, the preview is worth it.
  • If you’re waiting for everything to be open, you might want to hold off until the official May 22 opening.
  • If you’re a theme park diehard, you already know you’re going.

What To Do Next

✅ Pick your preview date ASAP — spots will go fast

Don’t wait around. Preview dates are limited, and demand will be high.
