Shadows of Memory at Disney World

Hey Disney Vacationers! Starting March 28, 2025, Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga will debut as part of the Season of Force at Disneyland. This new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge projection show will immerse guests in the legacy of the Skywalker saga. Right now, it’s only scheduled for Disneyland. However, rumors suggest we might see Shadows of Memory at Disney World too. Let’s break down what we know.

Shadows of Memory: What’s Confirmed

Disney has confirmed that Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga will:

  • Feature projection effects on the spires of Batuu near the Millennium Falcon.
  • Play on a 15-minute cycle, allowing more guests to experience the show.
  • Include an iconic musical score with themes from the Skywalker saga.

This repeat show cycle follows the same strategy as the Hogwarts Castle projection show at Universal Orlando and the Tree of Life holiday projection show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The goal is to maximize guest viewing opportunities, given the limited space in Galaxy’s Edge.

The Rumor: Will Shadows of Memory Come to Disney World?

On the February 17, 2024 edition of the Disney Dish podcast, Jim Hill hinted at the possibility of Shadows of Memory coming to Disney World. While there’s no timeline yet, it could happen sometime after the Season of Force concludes at Disneyland.

Bringing the Shadows of Memory to Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge makes a lot of sense, especially considering Disney’s strategy heading into summer 2025. With Universal’s Epic Universe opening that summer, Disney is planning new entertainment offerings, including:

  • A brand-new Villains Show at Hollywood Studios.
  • A new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom.
  • More character interactions and entertainment across the parks.

If Disney is looking to boost attendance and guest engagement, bringing Shadows of Memory”to Disney World would fit into that plan.

Could Luke Skywalker Also Come to Disney World?

Disneyland is taking the Season of Force one step further by introducing Luke Skywalker to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for the first time. Jim Hill confirmed that the version of Luke Skywalker we will see at Disneyland will be from Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. On February 7, Disney Parks teased his arrival with a video on Instagram. The post included this statement:

“Joining other familiar encounters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, for the first time, a shadowy visitor will appear on Batuu for a limited time. Wearing what seem to be Jedi robes, there are rumors it might be the legendary Luke Skywalker!”

This raises the question—could Disney bring Luke Skywalker to Disney World, too? If Shadows of Memory makes the jump to Florida, a Luke Skywalker meet and greet could be the perfect addition. Fans would love the chance to meet one of the most iconic characters in Star Wars history.

What Happens Next?

Right now, Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga is only confirmed for Disneyland. But if the rumors are true, we might see it in Disney World before too long. Given Disney’s push for more entertainment offerings in 2025, the timing could align perfectly.

Will Shadows of Memory become a permanent addition to Galaxy’s Edge in both parks? Could we finally see a Luke Skywalker meet and greet in Florida? Time will tell, but for now, Star Wars fans should keep their fingers crossed.

Stay tuned for more updates as we learn more about the future of Shadows of Memory at Disney World!
