Slice House at Universal CityWalk

Hey Universal Vacationers! Universal Hollywood has announced the opening of Slice House at Universal CityWalk in the Summer of 2025. This pizzeria brings the craft of a 13-time World Pizza Champion to a fast-casual setting. It blends artisan techniques with quick service, promising an exciting option for pizza lovers.

Tony Gemignani’s Award-Winning Tradition

Tony Gemignani is celebrated for his mastery of New York, Sicilian, Grandma, and Detroit-style pizzas. His expertise springs from San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood, where he developed many of his signature recipes.

“Universal CityWalk is a monumental location for Slice House. To have a restaurant that serves my craft pizza at one of Southern California’s most popular and exciting entertainment landmarks is a dream come true,” said Founder Tony Gemignani. “We are thrilled to be part of this community and look forward to welcoming everyone next summer.”

Franchise Owner and New Opportunities

Slice House Universal CityWalk will be franchised and operated by Vinny Margott, who runs other Slice House spots in Thousand Oaks and across Southern California. Margott values top-quality pizza and aims to bring it to more guests.

“We couldn’t be more excited to debut Slice House by Tony Gemignani at Universal CityWalk, a world-renowned destination that is home to acres of fun with many notable stores, restaurants, and entertainment establishments,” Margott said in a press release. “Having witnessed the positive response to our other Southern California outposts, we look forward to sharing Tony’s world-renowned pizzas with visitors to the destination at this all-new Slice House venue.”

The new restaurant is expected to create over 40 new full-time and part-time jobs. The team is currently hiring for all positions.

Menu Highlights

The pizzeria will serve pizza by the slice or as a whole pie, featuring:

  • New York, Sicilian, Grandma, and Detroit-style pizzas
  • Gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options
  • Fresh pasta, wings, salads, and rotating specials
  • Craft beers, premium wines, soft drinks, and juices

Guests can dine indoors or choose takeout, online ordering, and delivery.

Replacing Sparky’s Donuts

This location is believed to take the place of the recently closed Sparky’s Donuts. It will join other CityWalk eateries in providing fresh choices to visitors seeking a bite during their trip.

CityWalk Overhaul

CityWalk Hollywood is going through various updates, with several spots closing in the past month. The area is also planning changes to security checkpoints. These changes are meant to improve the guest experience, and Slice House at Universal CityWalk will be part of the refreshed line-up of venues.

Grand Opening Events

Leading up to its debut, Slice House at Universal CityWalk will host special events. Tony Gemignani is expected to make appearances, and more announcements will follow as opening day approaches. Stay tuned for details on celebrations, giveaways, and other surprises.

Slice House at Universal CityWalk is set to become a must-visit stop for pizza fans in Southern California. Keep an eye out for more updates as Summer 2025 draws near, and get ready for a slice of award-winning flavor on your next visit to Universal CityWalk.
