Hardest Lightning Lanes

Hey Disney Vacationers! Since the debut of the Lightning Lane Pass system at Walt Disney World on July 24, 2024, securing the best rides has become a new strategic game for guests. With the retirement of the Disney Genie+ system, the Lightning Lane Pass offers a fresh but challenging way to skip lines and maximize your Disney experience. Let’s dive into the hardest Lightning Lanes to secure and how you can best plan your Disney trip!

Top Lightning Lane Multi Pass Attractions

First, let’s talk about the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This pass gives you access to dozens of attractions with a single purchase, based on availability. However, some attractions are so popular that securing them can be quite the feat. Disney World has introduced attraction tiers at three of the four parks to make it a bit fairer. Here’s the scoop on the toughest ones:

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

  • Same-Day Availability: None
  • 3-Day: None
  • 7-Day: None
  • 10-Day: Afternoon/Evening

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently the hardest Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction to secure. This ride, still offered only via Virtual Queue, remains a top priority due to its newness and limited capacity. As 2025 approaches, this might change, so keep an eye out for updates.

Slinky Dog Dash

  • Same-Day Availability: None
  • 3-Day: Evening
  • 7-Day: Afternoon/Evening
  • 10-Day: Morning/Afternoon

Formerly the toughest ride to secure, Slinky Dog Dash remains highly sought after. If you’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios, make this a top priority during your pre-arrival planning.

Toy Story Mania

  • Same-Day Availability: Evening/Scarce
  • 3-Day: Evening
  • 7-Day: Afternoon
  • 10-Day: Noon

Tied with Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania is another popular choice. Ensure you secure this and Tower of Terror early in your planning phase.

Tower of Terror

  • Same-Day Availability: Evening/Scarce
  • 3-Day: Evening
  • 7-Day: Afternoon
  • 10-Day: Noon

Tower of Terror can have extreme wait times, making a Lightning Lane Pass invaluable. Book it early to avoid long lines and enjoy this thrilling drop!

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

  • Same-Day Availability: None
  • 3-Day: Afternoon/Evening
  • 7-Day: Morning/Noon
  • 10-Day: Morning

With Test Track under reimagining, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is currently the toughest to secure at EPCOT. Once Test Track reopens, this might change, but for now, prioritize Remy’s.

Haunted Mansion

  • Same-Day Availability: Evening
  • 3-Day: Evening
  • 7-Day: Afternoon
  • 10-Day: Morning/Noon

A classic attraction, Haunted Mansion is very popular. It often surpasses the majority of Tier One attractions in popularity, so make sure to secure it along with your Tier One choices.

Frozen Ever After

  • Same-Day Availability: Afternoon/Evening
  • 3-Day: Afternoon
  • 7-Day: Noon
  • 10-Day: Morning/Noon

Frozen Ever After is a must at EPCOT, especially with Test Track closed. It’s a good alternative if Remy’s is sold out.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

  • Same-Day Availability: Afternoon/Evening
  • 3-Day: Noon
  • 7-Day: Noon
  • 10-Day: Morning

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has several tough-to-secure attractions, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is no exception. Plan ahead to ensure you get a spot on this thrilling ride.

Na’vi River Journey

  • Same-Day Availability: Afternoon/Evening
  • 3-Day: Morning/Afternoon
  • 7-Day: Morning
  • 10-Day: Morning

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Na’vi River Journey is a top priority for Lightning Lane Multi Pass holders. Make sure to book early, especially if you’re also eyeing Avatar Flight of Passage.

Top Lightning Lane Single Pass Attractions

For the first time, Disney World allows guests to book Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions in advance. Based on the limited data available if you’re staying at Disney World Resort you should be able to easily make your selections. After the 7-day mark it does become a little iffy as what will still be available. It should be noted as of right now, the Virtual Queue is still an option for both TRON Lightcycle Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Here are the toughest ones to secure:

Flight of Passage

  • Same-Day Availability: None
  • 3-Day: Morning/Afternoon
  • 7-Day: Morning
  • 10-Day: Morning

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

  • Same-Day Availability: None
  • 3-Day: Afternoon/Evening
  • 7-Day: Morning
  • 10-Day: Morning

TRON Lightcycle Run

  • Same-Day Availability: None
  • 3-Day: Evening
  • 7-Day: Morning
  • 10-Day: Morning
