Hey Disney Vacationers! Big change coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure—the ride is ditching its virtual queue and moving to a standby line starting February 25, 2025. No more scrambling to grab a spot on the My Disney Experience app first thing in the morning. Just walk up, get in line, and wait your turn. Let’s look at what we know about the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure standby line.
This update means Magic Kingdom will soon be completely free of virtual queues, following TRON Lightcycle / Run dropping its system in September 2024. Plus, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will also switch to a standby queue.
Why Is Disney Making This Change?
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened with a Virtual Queue system to manage the opening rush and keep wait times under control. But after more than 240 days, Disney is making the move to standby-only—and it makes sense.
One major factor? Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed for refurbishment until 2026. That’s a big ride down in Frontierland, which could cause uneven crowd flow in the park. Shifting Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to a standby line spreads out guest traffic and gives people another major attraction to queue for.
Another key point—Disney has been phasing out Virtual Queues across the parks. As crowd patterns stabilize after an attraction’s opening, standby lines become more practical for daily operations.
Will Lightning Lane Still Be Available?
Yes. Lightning Lane Multi Pass will remain an option for those who want to skip the standby wait. But for everyone else? The standby line is now the only way to ride.
What This Means for Your Trip
- No more Virtual Queue stress – No need to log into My Disney Experience right at 7 AM.
- Expect long standby waits – Popular rides often hit 90+ minutes during peak hours.
- Plan your strategy – Rope drop, late-night rides, or using Lightning Lane will be the best ways to avoid long waits.
This change makes visiting Tiana’s Bayou Adventure simpler and more flexible—just show up and get in line.
