DVC Resort Refurbishment Schedule
Looking for the latest DVC Resort Refurbishment information? You’ve come to the right place! Below you’ll find a breakdown of both the soft and hard good updates for the DVC Resorts.
DVC Resort Refurbishment Information
Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort guest rooms undergo regular refurbishments to maintain their high standards. These renovations typically begin approximately 7 years after the resort’s opening, ensuring a fresh and enjoyable experience for guests. DVC owners find it beneficial to stay informed about upcoming refurbishment schedules, allowing them to plan their vacations accordingly and minimize potential disruptions. Let’s take a deeper dive into the DVC Resort refurbishment schedule and process.
DVC Resort Refurbishment Types
There are two main types of refurbishments conducted at DVC properties:
- Refresh: This type of refurbishment, often referred to as a “soft goods” refurbishment, involves enhancements to wall coverings, floor coverings, window coverings, furniture upholstery, linens, and minor furnishings such as artwork and in-room light fixtures.
- Full: Known as the “hard goods” refurbishment, the full renovation encompasses all the elements of a refresh, plus changes to appliances, kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, furniture replacement, and more. Typically, the full refurbishment involves a comprehensive rebuild of the guest room, starting around 14 years after the resort’s debut.
It’s worth noting that these refurbishment types can vary. For instance, in 2021, both Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa underwent a lighter refresh, which included the installation of pull-down Murphy Bed sleeper sofas in all rooms.
DVC Resort Refurbishment Schedule
According to Disney Vacation Club policies, guest rooms undergo renovation approximately every 7 years, alternating between refresh and full refurbishment cycles. During these projects, essential maintenance tasks are continuously performed to ensure the property’s upkeep. Refurbishments represent systematic updates to all rooms within the resort. It’s important to note that while a refurbishment is in progress, guests may be assigned either a renovated room or a non-renovated room.
Please refer to the schedule diagram below for the most up-to-date information on refurbishment projects. The projects confirmed by Disney Vacation Club are in bold, while the other ones are my estimates based on the 7-year interval. It’s important to remember that all dates, including the DVC-confirmed schedule, are subject to change.

Keeping the Resorts Sparkling: How the Finances Work
Ever wondered how our Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts stay so magical and inviting year after year? It’s not just Disney magic – it’s thanks to a smart, member-driven approach to keeping everything in tip-top shape!
Here’s the scoop: The cost of giving our DVC resorts a little TLC doesn’t just magically disappear. It’s all part of a well-thought-out plan. Each DVC resort has its own reserve fund, and it’s filled up by something every DVC member pays – your annual dues!
Think of your annual dues as your contribution to a big, communal piggy bank. Every year, all of us DVC members chip in. The amount each resort needs can vary, depending on how old the resort is, what kind of sprucing up it needs, and even how much the nuts and bolts of refurbishing will cost.
This piggy bank, or reserve fund, is the go-to when it’s time to freshen up our resorts. It’s like a guarantee that our beloved vacation spots will always be as wonderful as we remember them, without any surprise costs for us members.
But hey, it’s not just about fixing a squeaky door here or patching up a wall there. This fund is dedicated to keeping our resorts not just running, but shining – the kind of places we’re all proud to call our home away from home.
So, when you pay your annual dues, remember, that you’re doing more than just setting the stage for your next vacation. You’re helping ensure that the Disney magic we all love keeps getting better and better. It’s about making sure that, year after year, our DVC resorts remain top-notch destinations for fun, relaxation, and making memories.
Stay informed and plan your Disney Vacation Club experience accordingly to make the most of your stay.
