The Buzz Around A New Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge: What We Know So Far

New Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge

Hey there, Disney Vacation Club Members! If you’ve been keeping your ear to the ground for the latest DVC news, you might have caught wind of a rumor that’s as exciting as a ride on Space Mountain. Word on Main Street is that the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is expected to permanently close this summer. But don’t don your mourning hats just yet; it’s making way for something potentially even more magical: a brand-new Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge. That’s right, a potential Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge could be on the horizon, and here’s everything I’ve managed to gather about this development.

Early Announcements and Hints

Disney dropped a tantalizing hint back in early January, announcing that construction on a brand-new Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge would begin in 2024 at Walt Disney World. The details were as mysterious as the Haunted Mansion, with Disney revealing only that the new lounge “will be a great place for members to relax and recharge during their day of fun!” The exact location was left unspecified, leaving DVC members and Disney aficionados buzzing with speculation.

Adding fuel to the fire, Len Testa mentioned on Episode 473 of the Disney Dish podcast that more changes were coming to Frontierland, beyond the eagerly anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. While he didn’t confirm anything outright, the dots were there for Disney sleuths to connect, suggesting that the Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge could be part of these changes.

Frontierland’s Future

The closure of the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, while not officially announced by Disney regarding its replacement, seems to be a piece of a larger puzzle. Frontierland is set to welcome several new attractions and updates, including the new Country Bears Musical Jamboree this summer and a likely retheme of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe to align with the nearby Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Disney’s tease on its official blog only adds to the anticipation, stating, “Hold your horses, we’re not done yet. We have a lot of growth and investment planned for our theme parks in the coming years and look forward to sharing more announcements about Frontierland … so y’all come back now, ya hear?” This statement, while playful, underscores Disney’s commitment to enhancing Frontierland. Could a Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge being a potential part of this exciting future? It’s looking more likely, however, still not confirmed.

Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge

What This Means for DVC Members

For Disney Vacation Club members, the addition of a new lounge in the Magic Kingdom represents a significant perk. The current DVC lounges, like the one in EPCOT, offer a tranquil spot for members to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the parks, enjoy complimentary refreshments, and recharge both their devices and themselves. A lounge in Magic Kingdom would not only provide these benefits but also add an extra layer of convenience and exclusivity to the DVC membership, all within the heart of the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Similar to DVC EPCOT Lounge, a Magic Kingdom DVC Lounger would more than likely fall under the Membership Extras category. For more details on Membership Extras.

Stay Tuned

As of now, Disney has yet to unveil the full details of the Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge, including its exact location, features, and opening date.

So, keep your eyes peeled and your Mickey ears on for any official announcements. The Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge is shaping up to be the next big thing for Disney Vacation Club members, promising a unique space to relax, recharge, and revel in the magic of the Magic Kingdom. And remember, in the world of Disney, dreams have a way of turning into reality. Stay tuned, and see you real soon!
