Fort Wilderness RV & Golf Cart Policy

Hey Disney vacationers! If you’re a Disney fan who loves to explore the great outdoors or travel with the comforts of an RV, Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is probably one of your top destinations. Walt Disney World has recently announced new policies for RVs and golf carts at Fort Wilderness, ensuring everyone has a smooth, safe, and magical experience while roaming the pine and cypress forests. Let’s dive into the details of the new Fort Wilderness RV & Golf Cart Policy to help you plan your stay.

Understanding the New RV Policy

The new RV policy aims to streamline the experience for visitors traveling with their rigs while ensuring everyone stays secure and comfortable.

Renting an RV?

  • We have several Disney Featured Providers guests can use to rent an RV at Fort Wilderness. When guests choose to rent through one of these providers, the guest does not need to be present when the equipment is delivered to the resort. The provider will work with Disney Resort Cast Members to manage deliveries, set-up, and returns of rented RVs.

Bringing an RV?

  • RVs are welcome and must be brought in by registered guests

Navigating the Golf Cart Rules

Golf carts are a popular mode of transportation at Fort Wilderness, helping guests easily navigate the sprawling campground. The new golf cart rules prioritize safety and efficient movement throughout the resort.

Renting a golf cart?

  • Golf carts can be easily rented right from Fort Wilderness. Guests can make reservations in advance by calling 407-824-2724, based on availability. After arriving, guests can visit the Outpost to pick up the golf cart right at the resort.

Bringing your own golf cart?

  • Golf carts are welcome, but for the safety of everyone at the resort, beginning June 1, 2024, must also be prepared to present proof of insurance and sign an agreement and waiver. Liability insurance must have minimum limits of $100,000 / $300,000.
  • Third-party companies may not conduct business on Walt Disney World property.

As a reminder, our Walt Disney World Resort property rules prohibit unauthorized commercial activity at Walt Disney World. This includes unauthorized rentals brought onto our property by non-resort guests, such as RVs and golf carts. The full property rules can be found at Disney website

Tips for Navigating the New Policies

  1. Pre-Arrival Planning: Review the resort map and policy guidelines to get a sense of where you’ll be staying and how to navigate efficiently.
  2. Follow Resort Updates: Policies may evolve as Disney seeks to improve guest experiences. Stay up-to-date with any new announcements by checking Disney World’s official site regularly.
  3. Pack Essentials: Ensure you have all the documents and gear needed for your RV, as well as a fully charged golf cart battery and any extras.
  4. Talk to the Staff: Disney staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions about the policies.

Making the Most of Your Stay

Fort Wilderness is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for biking, fishing, and horseback riding. The policy changes aim to provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone. Whether you’re heading out for a family vacation or a weekend getaway, these updates to the Fort Wilderness RV & Golf Cart Policy ensure that your adventure remains as magical as the rest of your Walt Disney World vacation.
