DisneylandForward Update: New Concept Art for the Potential Parking Structure

Hey there, Disneyland fans! I’ve got some fresh news for you straight from the City of Anaheim’s recent planning meeting. Ready to dive into the magical world of what’s coming next? Let’s go take a look at the latest DisneylandForward update!
First off, there’s some buzz about a potential new parking structure located to the east of Disneyland. This is all part of the much-anticipated DisneylandForward project. Imagine not having to stress about parking anymore when you’re eager to hop on your favorite rides!
Now, for the juicy details: The area we’re talking about is east of Harbor Boulevard, right along Manchester Avenue. The plan? To introduce a parking zoning overlay. In simpler terms, this means they’re looking to develop parking that’s in line with the parking zones nearby. Makes sense, right?
But wait, there’s more! The DisneylandForward project isn’t just about parking. Here’s a sneak peek into some of the other proposed changes:
- A delightful mix of theme park attractions (yes, more rides!), swanky hotels, and a variety of shops and restaurants. Plus, they’re thinking of expanding the magic from 292 acres to a whopping 389 acres! This would stretch from Disneyland and Disney California Adventure all the way to the west side of Disneyland Drive, from Magic Way to Katella Avenue. And guess what? They might even replace the current hotel district. Big moves!
- Ever been to the Paradise Pier Hotel or parked at the Toy Story Parking Area? Well, these spots might soon get a theme park zoning overlay. This is to ensure that the theme park vibe is consistent throughout. More magic everywhere!
Now, for all you planners out there, here’s a timeline to mark on your calendars: Another Planning Commission workshop is set for early 2024. And, the DisneylandForward project will be discussed in a City Council workshop and hearing in the first half of 2024.
A little birdie (okay, it was Josh D’Amaro) mentioned that while we’ve seen some cool concept art and details about DisneylandForward, the exact specifics of the theme park expansions are still under wraps. So, will DisneylandForward be a brand-new gate for Disneyland Resort or an expansion of the current parks? That’s the million-dollar question, and we’re all ears for the answer!
Stay tuned, folks! The magic is just getting started.
