Hey Disney Vacation Club fans! If you’re eagerly tracking the progress of the new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts, you’re in for some delightful updates. Disney has recently shed light on what’s happening with the new additions to their resort family, and I’m here to give you the scoop on the timeline for the newest DVC resorts.
First up, let’s talk about the much-anticipated developments at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. During a recent earnings call on November 8, 2023, Disney outlined some key dates for these projects, and it’s looking like an exciting couple of years ahead for DVC members and Disney fans!
Here’s what we know so far:
- 2024 is set to welcome the Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. These cabins are a rustic dream come true for those who love the blend of outdoor adventure and Disney magic. The word on the street is that these cabins might open their doors to guests sometime in mid-2024.
- Late 2024 will see the debut of the Disney Vacation Club at Polynesian Resort. This addition is particularly thrilling because the Polynesian Resort is a fan favorite, known for its lush, tropical ambiance and immersive South Pacific theming.
Now, you might be wondering why the Fort Wilderness Cabins are likely to be ready before the Polynesian Tower. Well, it turns out that the Fort Wilderness project is a bit more straightforward. Disney plans to replace all the existing cabins and spruce up the surrounding amenities. The cool part? These new cabins are being manufactured off-site and will be brought in for installation, which speeds up the process significantly.
On the other hand, the Polynesian Tower project, which kicked off in the summer of 2022, is a bit more complex due to its larger scale. So, it makes sense that it’s taking a little longer to complete.
The new cabins at Fort Wilderness are being touted as the seventeenth DVC destination, following the recently opened Villas at Disneyland Hotel, which is the sixteenth. And here’s a little insider info – Disney filed for a timeshare sales license for the Fort Wilderness Cabins in October 2023. This usually happens about 8-9 months before sales begin, so things are definitely moving along! We could see the new cabins open as early as June 2024, but we’ll have to wait for the official announcement from Disney.
As for the Polynesian Tower, there’s still some mystery surrounding whether it will be part of the existing Polynesian Villas & Bungalows condo association or if it will stand as a separate entity. The way Disney handles the licensing might give us some clues, so stay tuned for that.
So, there you have it – a quick rundown of what’s happening with the newest DVC resorts. Whether you’re planning your next Disney vacation or just love keeping up with all things Disney, these developments are sure to add even more magic to the Disney experience. Keep an eye out for more updates as these projects progress!
